What is CompaktAid Plus?

UKCP CompaktAid Plus is a high performance semi-dry precast compaction and processing aid. It is a highly effective block and brick processing aid which improves compaction and density in semi-dry concrete applications.

It is a unique, innovative admixture specifically produced for semi-dry concrete. It combines next generation technology for improved compaction with dispersion of cement, which helps improve early strengths. The compaction aid also increases density, which reduces porosity and in turn helps reduce the occurrence of efflorescence.

What is efflorescence?

Efflorescence is the white, powdery deposit that can appear on the surface of concrete and masonry. It forms when water carries soluble salts to the surface and then evaporates, leaving the salts behind. It is a common concern for coloured precast products, because it dulls their appearance.

Where is CompaktAid Plus used?

CompaktAid Plus is used to improve compaction and handling of all dry and semi-dry concrete processes, including:

  • Concrete blocks
  • Paving flags
  • Block paviours
  • Roof tiles
  • Other concrete products made from dry or semi-dry mixes

Improved compaction properties also result in reduced machine stress and parts wear. For the standard compaction and processing aid, look at CompaktAid.

How to use CompaktAid Plus

Dosage rates vary depending on mix design, process, aggregate type and the required consistency. Typical dosage rates range from 300ml to 2000ml per 100kg of cement, which is 0.30% to 2% by weight of cement.

These figures are a guide only. The correct dosage for your process should be determined by laboratory trials, so confirm it with trials and with our technical support team.

For health and safety information, please refer to the Safety Data Sheet, available on request.

Packaging, storage and shelf life

CompaktAid Plus is supplied in 200 litre drums and 1000 litre IBCs. Protect the product from extreme temperature, frost and direct sunlight. It has a minimum shelf life of 12 months.
