What is Grout Aid?
Grout Aid is a black box additive for manufacturing cementitious pourable grouts. It is a proprietary powder blend of additives, formulated to be added to cement and sand to produce a shrinkage compensated, cementitious pourable grout.
Because every additive needed is already in the blend, Grout Aid saves having to purchase small lot additives. Everything is included, ready to blend with sand and cement.
A shrinkage compensated grout is formulated to offset the shrinkage that normally occurs as a cementitious material hardens, so it stays in full contact with the surfaces around it.
Where is Grout Aid used?
Grout made with Grout Aid can be used in a wide range of applications, including:
- Filling of cables
- Fixing anchor bolts
- Non-shrink grout for supporting machinery and equipment
- Filling voids and cavities, where the bleed resistant, shrinkage compensated grout is designed to ensure 100% fill
How to use Grout Aid
Blend Grout Aid with cement and clean, dried fine sand to make a fluid, shrinkage compensated pourable grout. Grout Aid is typically dosed at 50kg per tonne of powder.
A typical mix design is:
| Component |
Typical proportion |
| Cement |
35 to 40% |
| Sand |
55 to 60% |
| Grout Aid |
5% |
This mix design is indicative only. Cement and sand contents may vary depending on the properties you need, so confirm your formulation with trials and speak to our technical support team before going into production.
