What is Concremove?

Concremove is a concrete remover for plant and tools. It was developed to replace traditional highly corrosive, strong mineral acids, allowing the safe and non-hazardous cleaning and removal of dry hardened concrete, efflorescence and tar deposits from most surfaces without damaging or corroding them.

It is highly efficient at penetrating and loosening concrete, and is also a powerful cleaner and degreaser. Concremove contains no phosphoric or hydrochloric acids, is low odour and non-fuming, low VOC and over 90% biodegradable in 7 days.

What is efflorescence?

Efflorescence is the white, powdery deposit that can appear on concrete, masonry and other cementitious surfaces when soluble salts are carried to the surface by moisture and left behind as the water evaporates.

Where is Concremove used?

Concremove is suitable for interior and exterior use on:

  • Plant and tools carrying hardened concrete or cement deposits
  • Metals and coatings, on which it is non-corrosive
  • Stone, tiles and other porous substrates
  • Glass, rubber and painted surfaces, which it can be applied to without alteration

As well as concrete and cement, it readily removes tar deposits and is effective at removing efflorescence, rust and limescale.

How to use Concremove

  1. Test Concremove on a small hidden area of the substrate before treating the whole surface.
  2. Shake the product well. Use it as supplied and do not dilute it.
  3. Apply it liberally to the area with a low pressure hand spray unit, a roller or a brush.
  4. Allow it to react for 5 to 30 minutes, depending on the thickness of the deposits. Do not let it dry before rinsing.
  5. Once the deposits have softened, rinse the whole substrate with a high pressure washer. Alternatively, brush off with a thick bristle broom while rinsing with water from a hosepipe.
  6. Clean tools with water immediately after use.

For best results, use Concremove when the substrate temperature is between 5°C and 30°C. Do not apply it in the rain or in very hot weather, and do not mix it with another product, particularly bleach. Coverage is approximately 5 to 8m² per litre, for guidance only, so confirm with a trial and our technical team.

To prevent future soiling, protect the cleaned surface with Protekt.

For health and safety, wear rubber gloves and protective goggles, and refer to the Safety Data Sheet, available on request.

Packaging, storage and shelf life

Concremove has a shelf life of 12 months in sealed containers from the date of manufacture and must be used within 2 months of opening. Store it in a dry place between 5°C and 30°C. For current pack sizes, please contact UKCP.

Concremove FAQs

Common questions about Concremove. For project specific advice, contact our technical team.

What surfaces can Concremove be used on?

Concremove is non-corrosive on metals and coatings and is suitable for stone, tiles and other porous substrates. It can also be applied to glass, rubber and painted surfaces without alteration. Always test it on a small hidden area of the substrate first.

How long should Concremove be left to work?

Allow Concremove to react for 5 to 30 minutes. The time needed depends on the thickness of the deposits being removed. Do not let the product dry before rinsing.

Should Concremove be diluted?

No. Use Concremove as supplied and do not dilute it or mix it with another product, particularly bleach.

What coverage does Concremove give?

Coverage is approximately 5 to 8m² per litre, for guidance only. The amount needed depends on the deposits being treated, so confirm with a trial and ask our technical team for advice.

How do I stop concrete building up again?

To prevent future soiling, protect the cleaned surface with a treatment of UKCP Protekt.
