  • White or standard OPC concrete finishes

What is Eco-lease RB?

Eco-lease RB is a maximum concentration, biodegradable mould release agent. It is a blend of natural vegetable oils and naturally occurring polymeric extracts, formulated for general site and precast yard use. It achieves a top quality concrete finish in most situations and with most common mould surfaces.

Release is achieved by forming a physical barrier between the formwork surface and the concrete. Surfactants in Eco-lease RB help to eliminate blowholes and give a clean, uniform and non-stained surface. The product is 100% biodegradable and VOC free.

Where is Eco-lease RB used?

Eco-lease RB is suitable for use on all types of formwork in all climatic conditions, including:

  • Timber formwork, whether sealed or unsealed
  • Precast yards and general site work
  • Multi-planed features such as trapezoidal ribs and cone shaped column heads, where clean release can be difficult
  • White or standard OPC concrete finishes

It is highly resistant to removal by rain showers or foot traffic, and forms may be stripped early when other factors permit. Concrete cast against Eco-lease RB is fully compatible with the later application of silicone or similar surface treatments when the release agent is used as recommended.

How to use Eco-lease RB

  1. Prepare the formwork and carry out any necessary sealing.
  2. Apply Eco-lease RB thinly by spray, brush or swab before each concrete pour, as close to the time of placing the concrete as practical conditions permit.
  3. For timber and other porous forms that have not been sealed, apply a double coat. Put the first coat on heavily and allow it to stand for maximum absorption, then apply the second coat in the normal way.
  4. On vertical forms, remove any excess material that gathers at the bottom of the form.

A thin coating typically gives a coverage of 30 to 40m² per litre, depending on surface porosity. Too much release agent can harm the concrete surface finish, so apply it as recommended for the best performance and economy. Confirm the right rate with trials on your own forms and speak to our technical team for advice.

For health and safety information, refer to the Safety Data Sheet, available on request.

Packaging, storage and shelf life

Eco-lease RB has a shelf life of 12 months in its sealed container. Store it between 5°C and 30°C and protect it from frost and excessive heat. For current pack sizes, please contact UKCP.

Eco-lease RB FAQs

Common questions about Eco-lease RB. For project specific advice, contact our technical team.

What is Eco-lease RB?

Eco-lease RB is a maximum concentration, biodegradable mould release agent. It is a blend of natural vegetable oils and naturally occurring polymeric extracts for general site and precast yard use, and it achieves a top quality concrete finish in most situations and with most common mould surfaces.

How does Eco-lease RB work?

Release is achieved by forming a physical barrier between the formwork surface and the concrete. Surfactants in Eco-lease RB help to eliminate blowholes and give a clean, uniform and non-stained surface.

What coverage does Eco-lease RB give?

A thin coating typically gives a coverage of 30 to 40m² per litre, depending on surface porosity. Applying too much release agent can harm the concrete finish, so confirm the right rate with trials on your forms and ask our technical team if you need advice.

How should Eco-lease RB be applied to new timber formwork?

Timber and other porous forms that have not been sealed should first receive a double coat. Apply the first coat heavily and let it stand for maximum absorption, then apply the second coat in the normal way.

Can concrete cast with Eco-lease RB receive a silicone treatment?

Yes. Eco-lease RB is fully compatible with the subsequent application of silicone or similar surface treatments when used as recommended.

How long does Eco-lease RB keep?

Eco-lease RB has a shelf life of 12 months in its sealed container. Store it between 5°C and 30°C and protect it from frost and excessive heat.
