Release Agents and Plant Care FAQs

Answers to common questions about this collection. For advice on a specific mix or project, contact our technical team.

Which release agent should I use?

Eco-lease RB and MRA EF are biodegradable release agents based on natural vegetable oils for general site and precast yard use on all types of formwork. MRA1 is a mould release oil formulated for easy release of plastic and thermoplastic mould liners, and is also suitable for all types of formwork. Our technical team can advise on your moulds.

How far does a litre of release agent go?

A thin coating of Eco-lease RB, MRA EF or MRA1 typically covers 30 to 40m² per litre, depending on surface porosity. Applying too much can harm the concrete finish, so apply thinly and evenly.

How do I stop concrete building up on plant and machinery?

Apply Protekt to clean, dry equipment. It forms a barrier layer that stops concrete bonding, so dried on material can be jet washed away without acid based cleaners. To remove concrete that has already hardened, use Concremove, which contains no phosphoric or hydrochloric acids.
