Liquid Concrete Admixtures

SP10

SP10 is a mid range water reducing superplasticiser liquid based on polycarboxylate technology. It gives water reduction of more than 10%, helps prevent bleeding and segregation, and is an economic plasticiser for readymix concrete and screeds.

Liquid Concrete Admixtures

SP20

SP20 is a high range water reducing superplasticiser liquid based on polycarboxylate technology. It gives water reduction of more than 20% and suits self levelling, self-compacting and low water to cement ratio precast concretes, as well as mortars, adhesives and grouts.

Liquid Concrete Admixtures

HP-Xcel

HP-Xcel is a chloride free concrete accelerator and low temperature plasticiser. This non-chloride, non-corrosive liquid hardening accelerator speeds cement hydration for faster setting and higher early strength, and helps provide safer winter concreting without delays.

Powder Concrete Admixtures

UKCP Rapid Set

UKCP Rapid Set is a highly active, rapid set, high early strength cement additive for Portland cement systems. It accelerates precast and ready mixed concrete and activates GGBS, allowing 75% cement replacement without compromising early strength development.

Concrete admixtures are added in small quantities to readymix and precast concrete to change how it behaves when fresh or how quickly it gains strength. UKCP supplies admixtures for water reduction, acceleration and early strength.

What is in the concrete admixtures range?

What is the difference between SP10 and SP20?
Both are anionic polycarboxylate superplasticisers. SP10 is a mid range water reducer giving over 10% water reduction, suited to economic readymix and high slump concrete. SP20 is a high range water reducer giving over 20% water reduction, suited to self levelling, self compacting and low water/cement ratio precast concrete.

How do I speed up concrete in cold weather?
HP-Xcel is a non-chloride liquid accelerator that speeds cement hydration for safer winter concreting, earlier formwork release and higher early strengths. UKCP Rapid Set is a powder additive that can offset the slower set times experienced in winter. Our technical team can advise which suits your mix.

Can an admixture help me use more GGBS?
Yes. UKCP Rapid Set acts as an activator for GGBS when used with Portland cement in precast elements, allowing GGBS at up to 75% cement replacement without compromising early strength development. For semi-dry precast units such as blocks, see Xpress in our precast admixtures range.

How do I find the right dosage?
Each datasheet gives typical dosage ranges, but the right dose depends on your cement, aggregates, mix design and the performance you need. Carry out trial mixes and contact our technical support team for a recommendation.
